No Man Can Break My Heart at 62, Mo Abudu Says

Nigerian media entrepreneur Mo Abudu has said no man can break her heart at this stage of her life, insisting that she would rather focus her emotions on her work than allow a romantic relationship to cause her distress.

The 62-year-old EbonyLife founder made the remarks during a conversation with media personality Toke Makinwa on the Toke Moments podcast.

Abudu said she does not believe in heartbreak at her age, explaining that if she cries, it would be because of her work rather than a man.

“Nobody can break my heart. It’s not possible. There’s no such thing as heartbreak at my age. If I cry, it’s not because of a man. It may be because of my work.”

Mo Abudu Advises Women to Move On

The media mogul also advised women against trying to convince a man to remain in a relationship when he has clearly lost interest.

According to Abudu, women should recognise the signs when a relationship is no longer working and move on rather than lower their standards to keep someone who does not want to stay.

She also spoke about her expectations of a potential partner, saying she would prefer someone around her age or older who has achieved something she can respect.

Abudu, who turned 62 on September 11, 2026, has continued to expand her media career and the EbonyLife brand.

Her comments have since generated conversation around relationships, self-worth and dating later in life.
